A lovely brunch spot for a Saturday or Sunday by yourself or with friends to catch up on life. I've been here many times and their food is delicious and fresh tasting, great service and staff, and if you can sit outside during the warm months it adds to the classic NYC brunch in the summer vibes. Those pancakes are soooo good! It's a popular spot and in a happening part of Williamsburg. So try to go earlier or later than typical dining times to avoid a long wait. If they accept reservations, I recommend making one. Relax, enjoy and let the Sunday in Brooklyn staff take care of you!
Sunday in Brooklyn has been sitting in my bookmarks for quite some time - it periodically makes the rounds on my Yelp feed and I thought it looked like a place I would be interested in. Brooklyn isn't exactly in my backyard, and life happens so I never got to check this place out until today when I was looking for a spot to brunch with my parents. This seemed to fit the bill, so off we went. As suggested by the name, SiB aims to emulate the feelings and fare typically served on a Sunday (at least, from my perspective, Sunday brunch). The location has an inviting exterior with outdoor seating and a bright awning, while the interior is somewhat small with exposed brick and high ceilings. They don't take reservations for weekend brunch, but since it was a weekday I was easily able to book a table. The majority of the seating was banquette style, though there is also stool seating at the bar and I heard there's an upstairs area as well. The menu contained a good variety of brunch dishes as well as cocktails. We passed on cocktails, though we did start with two of their toasts: the ricotta with roasted berry and the avocado. Both of them were tasty - the former had a good balance of sweet and creamy, but I thought the latter was stronger. I know that every restaurant has avocado toast these days and that it's kinda basic, but they did a good job keeping the avo somewhat chunky and topping it with Calabrian chili. The sourdough was a good base and they kept it thick to withstand the toppings. For my main, I decided to go carb heavy and get the Sunday Pancakes - I've seen these all over their social media and I couldn't resist. The cakes were topped with a maple praline syrup, and I had the choice of up to three cakes (I went with three, because brunch). The dish was good - the pancakes almost had a corn-like consistency to them, though they didn't contain corn. They were also pretty fluffy so despite there being three cakes it wasn't heavy - besides being visually appealing, I can see why this is a hot ticket item. I also got a side of chicken sausage - this was good, though there was some sort of flavor in them that was unfamiliar to me. I didn't dislike the flavor, it was just different and unexpected. Service was great - food came out at a good pace and our server was really friendly. Overall, I had a great experience at Sundays in Brooklyn - I can see why this is a hotspot and would definitely return to explore more of their menu.
Sunday came early this week! Came on a Saturday morning with a 10am reservation, they were pretty busy. We were seated in the upstairs dining room and our server was lovely. For drinks we ordered a Bloody Mary and a N/A Spicy Margarita. Both drinks were really good! For food we started with the famous Sunday Pancakes (double) which were very rich almost resembled cake. We also ordered the Yummos which were like boneless buffalo wings, really enjoyed. I ordered a Grain Bowl per the recommendation of the sever and my partner ordered the Shakshuka. Everything was really good, highly recommended!
Awesome brunch spot in Brooklyn! My favorite item was probably the chicken sandwich but also loved the ricotta toast. The cinnamon roll was okay. Service was great. I'd come back and try the pancakes next time.
Firstly be ready to wait about an hour to be seated!! Small cute spot, I mean if you don't mind the person next to you hearing your conversation then it's great. Wow best hot drink I ever had, can't remember its name. It's like a hot chocolate. The food was extremely good. I loved the Long Island home fries. The pancake was not like any normal pancake looked like a pound cake. But delicious
Definitely 5/5. Came with my family for Sunday brunch on Mother's Day. We waited an hour for a party of 6 and it was definitely worth the wait. The restaurant has many tables and multiple floors, but I would definitely recommend checking out the reservations that come out 30 days prior if you want to avoid the wait. There aren't many options on the menu and my family opted to try different dishes. Everything was remarkable and was brought out fairly quickly. The grain bowl had a velvety egg, fresh veggies, and the most beautiful avocado. It was hearty and a well-balanced choice. The pancakes were incredibly unique. They were thick, filling, and had a cake-like texture. The outside glaze had a burnt caramel taste and was delicious. I would definitely recommend trying these pancakes. We ordered 3 pancakes to share, but 1 pancake was filling. Shakshuka is one of my favorite meals and this entree from Sunday and Brooklyn was paired with an incredible warm focaccia. The shakshuka was sweet and tangy and the feta crumble added a creamy texture. The mediterranean salad was vibrant! It was packed with flavor and gorgeous topping. The restaurant was busy but the service was fast and the servers were helpful. I will definitely return! Loved the greenery inside of the restaurant. Also, there are many outdoor seats available but this was a rainy day so we opted to sit inside.
After my previous al fresco brunch experience, I returned to the scene of the foodie crime with a couple of friends. This time I dined indoors in their quaint and soothing candle lit space. And like brunch, dinner did not disappoint with Isabel as our server. While we kept it simple with salad, pizza, and burgers, it was beyond simple. Before I arrived I knew I was going to order the pizza and it was perfect to include a nice crispy crust. We delighted in: SPINACH & ARTICHOKE DIP White Cheddar, Sourdough (Hot. Cheesy. Tasty.) WOOD ROASTED BRUSSELS SPROUTS Toasted Pistachio, Golden Raisins, Lemon Gremolata (A perfect mix of sweet and savory.) WOOD FIRED SICILIAN PIZZA Spicy Salami / Red Sauce, Mozzarella, Fennel Salami, Hot Cherry Peppers, Sesame Crust HOT CHICKEN SANDWICH Crispy Chicken Thigh, Chipotle, Lime Crema, B&B Pickles, Cilantro, Sesame Potato Bun w/Sunday Fries MEDITERRANEAN SALAD W/GRILLED SHRIMP Chopped Lettuce, Feta, Focaccia Croutons, Cucumbers, Kalamata Olives, Marinated Artichokes, Grilled Peppers, Red Onion LYCHEE DROP Lemongrass Mezcal, Jasmine, Lychee, Cucumber Bitters SUNDAY ESPRESSO MARTINI Mezcal, Mr Black Coffee, Vanilla Bean, Banana (We requested this brunch cocktail.) Mmmm... Bon Appetit! Cheers! Enjoy!
Came here to celebrate my dad's birthday brunch and we were blown away by the food and service. Our server was attentive and had brought in a heater for us as we were seated near the windows on a cold February weekend. They gave my dad a complimentary maple cheddar biscuit with a candle which was a nice gesture. The biscuit was delicious and I'd recommend ordering it. The steak and eggs and cheddar scramble were a big hit with my family. Everyone loved how filling it was and perfectly seasoned. The scrambled eggs were fluffy and soft. The potatoes were crispy and flavorful. The steak was perfectly cooked, tender, and delicious! The Sunday Pancakes were thick (almost cake like) and came with a praline sauce that was so decadent and indulgent. It is a must try and can be shared between 2 people. Although it is a little overpriced for their portion - $17 for a single stack of pancake. I ordered an espresso martini and my sister ordered the honeybear on holiday. I ended up liking her drink more than mine. Overall, my family and I had a wonderful experience and we definitely see this place becoming a go-to for brunch in the future.
*4.5 stars* Came in during the weekend for a later lunch with a couple of friends. We showed up very early for our reservation but were still seated right away. Amazing customer service. They were busy but we did not wait long for food or drinks. I got a warm grain bowl with smoked salmon and champagne problems for my drink. Both were very tasty and had great presentation. My friend didn't like one of her drinks and our waitress was very nice about it and exchanged it for no extra cost. My friends enjoyed their food also. Had a great experience overall. Would definitely come back.
